Following the craziness of Christmas, I decided to finally take the time and make some candy. I've always wanted to try divinity, but have been haunted by the memory of breaking not one, but two hand mixers when mom tried to make it a long time ago. I persevered and it seemed to turn out okay. They were a little stiff, but not bad for my first time. They remind me a bit like marshmallows, full of sugar. Best of all, my hand mixer survived. I think this will be on my list for next year.

My mom has tried and tried to make divinity, but I think she's never been successful! I do remember having to eat "divinity squares" that didn't turn out! CONGRATS!
