Monument Valley

Sunday after church with Garth, we drove to Moab and visited Arches Nat'l Monument. At first the kids thought it was going to be stupid and just wanted to go to the hotel, but in the end they really liked it. Outside the park was a very, very steep sand hill. The kids had to climb to the top and then roll down. What a mess in the car because they were hot and sweaty with sand stuck to them. Monday we went on our raft trip down the Colorado River, White Water Canyon trip. It had rapids that were 3's and 4's. It was fun. Sorry, no pictures! On the drive home on Tuesday we drove through Monument Valley in Arizona. I was the driver and kept yelling, "Ooh, look at that one! Ooh, look at this one! etc." I don't think anyone paid any attention. It was fun to see something different than the usual trip home from Utah.
The rest of the summer was last week, football camp for Aaron. He survived just fine. Anna is gone to Band camp this week and Anna, Karen, and me at girl's camp next week. Karen's first year! Karen made it to semi-finals in the city swim finals on Monday. We were proud of her efforts. She has never made it that far before.
